The Energy Education Park is one of the newest concepts aimed
to bring the awareness among masses regarding the usage of
conventional and non conventional resources. The Energy Education
Park at Kolkata is one such popular establishment in the Indian sub
continent. The park was set up by West Bengal Renewable Energy
Development Agency (WBREDA) in the first month of the new
millennium. The park is situated on the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass
Road and is spread over an area of about 1.5 acres. The primary
objective of the project was to mediate the message, which is the use
of renewable technologies and resources to meet the energy crisis,
especially among the students. The park was launched with quite a
modest amount, Rs 85 lacs, and is catching the attraction soon.
