Tala is an important commercial centre in the northern suburbs
of Kolkata city. The region lies just before the confluence of
Barrackpur Trunk Road and R.G. Kar Road. Tala area lies close to the
suburbs of Dum Dum. The township is known for having the green

region. Towards the lower part (south) of Tala is the R.G. Kar
Road. The bus and taxi services as such provide easy
accessibility in the region. The distance between Tala and the
city central is about 6 kms.
- The nearest metro station to Tala is the one at Belgachia.
The station lies towards the southeast of Tala and not more than
a kilometre away.
- Dum Dum Airport (International) is in the vicinity of Tala.
The airport lies to the north-east of Tala and less than two
kilometres from it. Domestic airport, the one at Behala is 18
kms away and towards the north west of Tala.
